Oaxen Tavern
Oaxen Krog is a luxury restaurant in the old Djurgårdsvarvet at Beckholmsvägen on Djurgården in Stockholm. The restaurant was started in 1994 on the island of Oaxen in Stockholm’s southern archipelago, but in 2013 the restaurant was moved to Djurgården. At the same time, the sister restaurant Slip, opened in the same building, as a bistro.
As a food philosophy, you explore the wildly grown on Djurgården, unique ingredients are chosen from the absolute immediate area to the northernmost borders of the Nordic countries where quality, taste, sustainable agriculture and humane animal care are what is required to end up in the kitchen. Oaxen prepares raw materials in a modern way, but old and traditional techniques are the very basis of the working method.
In January 2014, Oaxen Krog received the Golden Dragon as the best restaurant in Stockholm in the Luxury class. In the same year, Oaxen Krog was awarded a star in the 2014 edition of Guide Michelin, at the same time as the sister restaurant Slip received a BiB Gourmand. In 2015, Oaxen Krog was awarded two stars by Guide Michelin.
